Bellamy hang's boot

Former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy announced his retirement Tuesday.

Bellamy, who played for the town club Cardiff City over the past two seasons and took the decision to suspend the boot after deciding not prepared to play at the highest level.

The Wales international's 34-year-old failed to Cardiff from exiting into the Championship and consider failure as a signal to end the brilliant 17-year career that has seen it play for Celtic, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Norwich City, Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City.

Bellamy fulfill his childhood dream to help Cardiff win promotion to the Premier League in 2013, thus ending the 51 year drought south Wales club to compete at the highest level.

"I have actually decided to retire a few years ago, but this time I really had to do it. I'm not tired.

"It's time for me to stop. When Cardiff jumped to the Premier League, I want to stop because he had my city clubs playing in the premier competition.

"But when I spoke to Malky Mackay (manager at the time), he persuaded me to play one more season and I agree. Now I'm not sure to do it again, "he said.

Bellamy retired with 169 goals scored as well as the League Cup medals and won Community Shield at Liverpool as well as co-Celtic Scottish Cup.
